Two young and enthusiastic travellers on their first trip to explore the beautiful world out there, decided to start a blog to enrich and share their traveling experiences. Shivudu Bhuvanagiri and Narasimha Karthik Yadati to ink this blog, the later being a graduate from IIIT-H is working with IBM and the former doing his Masters at IIIT-H.
The idea of traveling took birth during our graduation days at IIIT-H. It is on one fine evening that we happen to share the common longing for traveling around the world. As the saying goes “A journey of a thousand miles must begin with a single step”, we decided to start with places around or closer to us and slowly expand the span to other places in India, then to as many places as possible in the rest of the world.
The writers strongly believe that there would be many people who would have the desire to travel, but owing to their daily course of life they might have shelved their dreams. Here, We write to demonstrate that there are ways to relish that dream to travel (in bits and pieces); and also give them a push to start the journey to discover the world. We would be extremely happy if someone could join us on our future trips.
This blog will also try to fight against the dormant nature people develop, which has its roots in lack of proper information to new places. It provides people with options of places to explore, documents proper information about the place along with stay & travel, suggestions, chalks out trips to suit your schedules and much more. We will do all these by narrating our experiences.
“The World is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page”. Let our journey to read other pages begin….
A small bio-data of the writers:
Karthik:
Hi all, this is Karthik. I have been in Hyderabad since my childhood. Recently, around 10 months back I had to shift to Bangalore for my job. When it comes to academic interests, I am very much interested in the areas of speech processing and computer vision. I am a software engineer by profession and am working with IBM India Software labs in Bangalore. I love music and am very passionate about singing. I’ve always felt that my voice is very good irrespective of other people’s opinion
(that might sound strange, but its like that. To quote Shahid Kapoor from the movie Jab We Met – “Aise Jo Chahe Feel kar sakthe hain yaar”). I listen to songs from movies, carnatic classical music. I also love reading books (both fiction and non-fiction). I am passionate to learn about the rich heritage and culture of our country. Coming to food habits, I am a vegetarian by birth and also by choice. Coming to travelling interests, I would love to go to any place under the sun as long as I have friends with me. Personally, I prefer an activity filled trip to a wild life sanctuary or a lazing trip to a hill station. My aim is to travel the entire world during my lifetime.
Shivudu:
I was known to be mischievous as a kid, dominating & always quarreling-with-gals during the initial years of higher secondary school. Towards the end of my school days, I enjoyed the reputation of being a good cricketer and also known to be friendly-at-times, but head-weighted and egoistic with signs of leadership. For my attitude, I always felt strongly that I should have done my schooling from places like Kendriya Vidyalayam, Navodaya Schools or Sainik Schools.
To everyone’s surprise I topped my school in board exams and since then, somehow, I’ve developed some appreciation and interest towards academics. After all the years of schooling, in same school in Nalgonda, I moved to Vijayawada for my Intermediate in spite of my hidden love for +1 & +2 from CBSE board. I personally feel that the college days (co-ed) in Nellore, when I was preparing to give iit-jee second time, were the most beautiful days of my life. My failure of not making it to the IITs came as a shock to everyone and I managed to get into IIIT-H. In retrospection, huge transformation in my life took place during my graduation days and I am a better individual being here. Now, I am a very different person both internally and externally. Being in IIIT-H for last 5 years, doing Masters after my Bachelors, I have developed true passion towards research areas of Robotics, Robo-vision, AI and algorithms. Pursuing PhD outside India is on my list of future plans.
Except for last 3-4 months, for the rest of my life I have been dumb and deaf towards music. Any attempt to hum/sing would sound more like reading a text. But, I always have a deep attachment and love towards classical music & classical dance. Learning classical dance has been one of my secret desires. I am passionate to learn about the rich heritage & culture of our country, and love to explore cultures of other nations. Reading books is something I like to do but I find very less time for that in my schedule. When it comes to traveling I share the same opinion with Karthik, adding adventurous trekking trips to the list. I look more of an extrovert & easy-to-get-along. At the same time, I believe I am very emotional and it is something only a very few close ones have unearthed. Adding to above details, I have currently caught a new passion – learning to play violin. I enjoy analyzing and thereby predicting people and their behaviour.
